What Lent is for me....

Lent is a gentle invitation from Christ  to slow down. In a world full of noise, this season calls me to quiet my heart and listen more closely to God. It’s a time for reflection—on my choices, my habits, and where I’ve allowed distractions to take the place of faith. Through self-discipline, we learn  that less can truly be more: less scrolling, less rushing, less clutter in my spirit. Lent isn’t about perfection, but about intention
making room for prayer, grace, and renewal. In the stillness, God speaks, and I’m reminded of what truly matters.

Listen To Him

Last Sunday, in our Churches: We focused on the readings of Elijah - not just the whirlwind but Elisha’s following in preparation - and our Gospel reading. 

The Transfiguration of Jesus. The light that Jesus shows the disciples is an anticipation of Easter glory, and that must be the goal of our own journey, as we follow “him alone”.  

Three words stood out for me in our Gospel reading “Listen to him”, we can listen to him in several ways, through Liturgy, though our daily bible readings and study and reflection. Lent is a time of grace to the extent that we listen to him as he speaks to us.

Lent leads to Easter:  Lent is a means of preparing us to experience the Lord’s passion and cross with faith, hope and love, and thus to arrive at the glorious resurrection. 

Join us journeying through Lent every Sunday with services in both churches at 11am.
Wednesday’s 11am @ St Matthew’s
Maundy Thursday 6pm @ St Leonard’s
Good Friday Service 2pm (this will be a service in Both Churches)

Sunday School

Sunday School for ages 4+ is held weekly within service. St. Leonards is seeking to transform the community and individuals through resourcing new ways of being a church. 

Baptisms

Thanksgiving / Blessing of a child takes place on the 1st Sunday of the month at St. Matthews & 3rd Sunday of the month at St Leonards.                                                                                                                                                           

Please speak to vicar with regards to a Baptism, you will need to give 3 months notice of Baptism date. This is due to arranging Baptism preparation classes for both Parents & God Parents.
